Sean Poitras is a Sport Psychology specialist living and working in the Greater Toronto Area of Ontario Canada. Sean has been working, researching and studying in the field of Sport Performance Enhancement Psychology since 2004. As an applied consultant, college lecturer, academic researcher, and former junior and collegiate athlete, Sean Poitras has been a student of the sport psychology field for years.
He began his career in at Laurentian University in Sudbury, Ontario where he obtained his Honors B.A. in the only Sport and Exercise Psychology program in Canada. He wrote and defended his undergraduate thesis, and completed a full year internship in the OUA/CIS.
After continuing with postgraduate field experience, Sean went on to pursue his Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology, specializing in Athletic Counseling. He completed his Master's of Education degree from Springfield College in 2012, working under some of the leading professionals in modern sport psychology.
Since returning home to Ontario Sean has been teaching as an adjunct professor and lecturer at the University of Guelph- Humber and at Sheridan College teaching the Psychology of Sport Injury course through the Athletic Therapy Program. Sean currently works with a variety of coaches, teams and athletes of all ages and competitive levels.
